Longhorn Productions is hiring Shop Technicians to prep, test and ship the audio, video, lighting and staging gear that goes out on our shows from our new DFW shop in Richland Hills.

The role

Shop Techs are the reason our gear works every time it leaves the building. You'll pull and prep orders, test and QC equipment before it ships and after it comes back, keep inventory accurate, and load trucks so every show goes out complete and on time.

No two days are the same. One day you're building a pull for a corporate general session, the next you're testing a stack of returned moving lights or rolling up drape. If you like gear, like getting things right, and want to grow in live events, this is a great place to start.

What you'll do

Order prep (outbound)

• Pull, build and pack orders from the pull sheet: audio, video, lighting, LED, staging, drape and cabling
• Double-check counts, spares and accessories so nothing is missing on site
• Label and case gear, stage it by job and load trucks safely

Quality control and testing

• Power up and test gear before it ships: consoles, speakers, mics, projectors, displays, LED panels, fixtures and cable
• Run QC on returns: check in, test, clean and inspect for damage
• Tag anything broken, log the issue and route it for repair
• Do basic maintenance: re-terminate cable, swap lamps and fuses, update firmware, factory-reset devices

Receiving and inventory (inbound)

• Check in returns and subrentals against the order and flag shortages or damage
• Scan and update inventory in our rental system (Rentman)
• Put gear back where it belongs so the next pull is fast
